Prayer, Evangelization, & Stewardship

Journey

Week of May 22-28, 2022 -

The theme for this week is "The Ascension of our Lord - 40 days after Easter"

When praying this week please pray: That we nurture and share the gifts we have been given by the Holy Spirit.

What’s happening this week? Not one but two great events!

May Procession at the 10:30am Mass this Sunday (May 22nd).  Mary is our perfect model of faith.  She is our example of saying "yes" and trusting in God totally and completely.  Come and join the youngsters who recently received their First Holy Communion as they honor Mary.

Workshop on Contemplative Prayer Tuesday May 24th from 7-9pm at St. Catherine Church.  Contemplative Prayer is the opening of mind and heart - our whole being - to God, the Ultimate Mystery, beyond thoughts, words and emotions.  Father Peter will lead this workshop, helping us learn the method and principles of this prayer practice.  We will have the opportunity to experience this ancient method in a quiet, reflective atmosphere.

Need some suggestions for the week ahead?

Adore Him! Spend some time with our Lord at Eucharistic Adoration on Tuesday from 8:30-10am at St. Anne Church.

Celebrate the Holyday of Obligation for the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. Attend Mass on Thursday May 26th.  Masses will be celebrated at 8am at St. Catherine's OR 7pm at St. Anne's.

Be Thankful Consider praying AFTER meals in thanksgiving for what you have just received.

Pray Out Loud! Say a prayer in public - like when you are out to eat at a restaurant.

Don't Tell! Secretly do an act of kindness for someone.

Share your Blessings!  Invite an elderly neighbor or friend to a family dinner.  Ask God to open your eyes to the needs of others and to the ways you might give of yourself or your resources to help them.

Recognize the gifts that the Holy Spirit has entrusted to you. How do you or will you make these gifts fruitful by using them wisely and sharing them with others?

Pentecost is coming! Beginning May 28th, start a Novena to the Holy Spirit for the nine days before Pentecost.  CLICK HERE!
