
Welcome to Session 6 (The Final Lesson) for First Eucharist!
Congratulations! You are on the final lesson of Blessed. Please go through the lesson with your child. It is due April 27. You will need the Blessed First Communion book and a pencil.
Don't forget turn in this session by having your child complete the short Google Form at the end of the lesson (scroll down).
- Begin with the Sign of the Cross, and pray the prayer on page 165 together.
Made for Mission
- Watch the Episode 1 together:
- Read pages 166 - 167 together and reiterate what Sarah said in the episode: "You were made for mission! I can't wait to see what special plan God has in store for you!"
Your Parish Family
- Watch Episode 2 together
- Read pages 168 - 171 together.
- Ask your child, "Sarah mentioned some reasons why it's great to be Catholic. Can you name any?" (Our parish family cares for us, there is a church almost everywhere in the world, the Church feeds the hungry, gives shelter to the homeless, etc.)
Go Make a Difference
- Watch Episode 3
- Read pages 172 - 175 together.
- Ask your child to share some ideas on how they can make a difference in other peoples lives (listen to their parents, do their homework, be kind to their classmates, etc.)
The Power of Prayer
- Watch Episode 4
- Read pages 176 - 177 together.
- This is the perfect time to encourage a daily prayer practice. Discuss together a good place to pray in the house. Have them close their eyes and visualize their special place to pray.
- Take a moment to pray together for any intentions your family has.

I will be with You Always
- Watch episode 5
- Read pages 178 - 181 together.
- Ask: "Listen to these words of Jesus, 'And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.' How does it feel to know Jesus is always with you?" (Thankful, happy, loved, safe, etc.)
- Tip - do you ever spend time before Jesus in the tabernacle? If so, share that experience with your child. If possible, find some time to visit Jesus in the tabernacle before their First Communion. (St. Catherine church is open Mon - Fri 9 am - 4 pm).

- Watch Episode 6 and read 182 - 185 together:
Closing Prayer
- Pray the closing prayer on page 190 - 191 together or watch Episode 7 below.
- Ask your child: “What are some of the most important things you learned in this lesson?” (I was made for mission, my parish family is my spiritual family, God created me for a purpose, I am blessed, my greatest talent is to make a difference in other peoples' lives, prayer is powerful, God will never leave me, etc.)
