Welcome to Session 2 for First Eucharist!



Please go through the lesson together with your child. It is due Feb 23. You will need the Blessed First Communion book and a pencil.


Don't forget turn in this session by having your child complete the short Google Form at the end of the lesson (scroll down).


  • Begin with the Sign of the Cross, and pray the prayer on page 53 together.

The Ultimate Prayer

  • Watch the Episode 1 together:
  • Read pages 54 and 55 together.
  • Ask your child if they know how many types of prayer there are, and can they name the types? (thanksgiving, petition and intercession, praise, adoration) 

God's House


  • Watch Episode 2 together:
  • Read pages 56 and 57 together.
  • Ask your child, "Where is God's house?" (The Church! Emphasize that Blessed Trinity Parish is one of God's houses.)


The Third Commandment

Watch Episode 3 together:

  • Read pages 58 and 59 together.
  • Ask your child: "What is one reason why it is important to go to Mass each Sunday?" (To thank God for all the ways He blesses us!).
  • Does your family find it difficult to go to Mass every week? Discuss together ways to arrange the family schedule to be able to attend Mass each week.

Listening to God

  • Ask your child: "Do you think God still speaks to His people?" Then watch Episode 4 together.
  • Ask your child: "Last time you were at church, what did God say to you?" Give them some time to think about the question if they don't answer right away.
  • Share your experiences with how God has spoken to you.

Your Mass Journal

  • Read pages 62 to 65 together.
  • Ask your child: "What is one of the reasons we go to Mass on Sunday?" (To listen to God's voice.)
  • Share your favorite way of listening to God's voice (at Mass, sitting quietly in church, praying at home, reading Scripture, etc.)

  • Watch Episode 5 together:

Listening to God at Mass

  • Watch Episode 6 together:
  • Ask your child: "What is the greatest event on earth?" (the Mass!)
  • Spend some time asking about your child's experience with the Mass (What is your favorite part of the Mass, when do you feel closest to God at Mass, etc.)
  • Don't forget to bring along the "Praying the Mass" sticker booklet to Mass so your child can follow along with the prayers and responses.

Closing Prayer

  • Pray the closing prayer on page 76 together or watch Episode 7 below.
  • Ask your child: “What are some of the most important things you learned in this lesson?” (The Mass is the most amazing event on earth, every Sunday God has a special message for me, Jesus is present in a special way at Mass, learning to listen to God's voice is one of the most important lessons we can learn, etc.).
