Inspired by the Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in our community. Beneficiaries do not need to be parishioners or Catholic to receive assistance, and all requests are confidential. Vincentians may be able to help in a short-term situation. They may also provide information that addresses longer-term needs. Are you facing financial difficulty due to illness, unemployment, personal tragedy, or other unexpected challenges?  To request help in a time of need, please call us direct at at the numbers above or send an email. Leave a message and you will be contacted by a member of the Saint Vincent de Paul organization.

Household Goods Recycling of Massachusetts ("HGRM")     978-635-1710 ext. 3
HGRM clients are individuals and families in transition who need help to rebuild their lives. They include:

  • victims of fires or floods
  • women and children escaping abusive domestic situations
  • people coming out of shelters or halfway houses
  • war veterans down on their luck
  • refugees and recent immigrants to the U.S.

If you need furniture and household goods, you must have a referral e-mailed to HGRM from a social service agency, government agency or clergy. Please ask the person from the agency or religious organization who is helping you to make the referral and set up an appointment for you to come to HGRM.

Community Teamwork established the first shelter for homeless families in Greater Lowell, which remains in existence today the name of Milly's Place.  CTI also opened the Merrimack House to further address the needs of a growing homeless family population.

The mission of the Milly's Place and the Merrimack House is to assist homeless families to locate affordable housing and to become self-sufficient while providing a safe, and supportive environment. In addition to emergency services such as shelter and food, we also offer a wide array of social, educational, and enrichment programs. We strive to respond to the needs of our residents by assisting them with job training and educational opportunities, personal and financial counseling, information and referrals, housing assistance, as well as case management.
