Nursing Home Volunteers

Matthew 25: 35-40

Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison and visit you?

And the king will say to them in reply, "Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me."

Mission Statement for Nursing Home Volunteers

With the words of Matthew 25:35-40 as our beacon, we strive to bring Christ's compassion, presence and ministry, as well as a sense of inclusion in our Christian community, to the residents of several local nursing homes.

Group Description

Caring and compassionate volunteers visit three local nursing homes each week and lead the Catholic residents in prayer, song and reception of the Blessed Sacrament.

On Sundays, Eucharistic Ministers visit Bridges, Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley and Westford House to pray with residents and to offer Holy Communion. For more information please contact the ministry coordinator, listed below.

On Mondays at 10:15 am, ministry members visit Westford House and lead the residents in praying the rosary and singing liturgical songs. Once a month a Mass or Communion Service is held in place of the rosary. Please contact Jeanne Masterman, email her here or Alan Hicks, email him here for more information:

On Wednesdays at 10:00 am, ministry members visit Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton, to offer communion, pray the rosary and sing songs. Once a month a Mass or Communion Service is held. Please contact Sue Gormley, email her here or call her at: 978-320-4210 for more information.

On Tuesdays at 11:00 am, ministry members visit Bridges Memory Care Assisted Living, in Westford to pray the rosary and sing liturgical songs. Once a month a Mass or Communion Service is held in place of the rosary.  Please contact Sue Gormley for more information. email her here
